Detailed explanation of highway guardrail functions
With the rapid development of roads, highway guardrails are widely used. Highway guardrails not only protect people's safety but also ensure smooth traffic flow. As a prerequisite safety equipment in transportation, they play a crucial role in road traffic safety. So, what functions do highway guardrails have?
Functions of highway guardrails:
1. Highway guardrails separate motor vehicles, non-motorized lanes, and non-motorized traffic, longitudinally dividing the road in cross-section, allowing motor vehicles, non-motorized vehicles, and pedestrians to travel in their respective lanes, thereby enhancing road traffic safety and optimizing traffic management;
2. Highway guardrails prevent undesirable traffic behavior, deterring pedestrians, bicycles, or motor vehicles attempting to cross the road. They require the fence to have a certain height, density, and strength;
3. Through installation, the fence's outline becomes clear and concise, warning drivers to pay attention to the presence of the fence and to pedestrians and non-motorized lanes, thereby preventing traffic accidents;
4. By using different materials, types, shapes, and colors for the fence, harmony and coordination with the road environment are achieved;
It's clear that highway guardrails are not just for simple road protection; more importantly, they are primarily for defining and conveying urban public transport information regarding pedestrian and vehicle flow, achieving effects that are safe, convenient, orderly, smooth, and efficient;
Aliases for Highway Guardrails
Highway guardrails are also known as: Expressway guardrails, frame guardrails, traffic fences, highway guardrails, road isolation fences, road mesh barriers. In essence, these are just changes in names, but the product is still a fence, with no difference in the product itself. Highway guardrails are a common type among fence products. They are made by weaving and welding domestic galvanized iron wire and aluminum-magnesium alloy wire, featuring flexible assembly and sturdy, durable properties. They can be used as permanent fence walls or as temporary fences; during use, only different post installation methods are required. In recent years, highway guardrails have been widely used on many expressways in China and and have achieved good results;
Anti-rust treatment technology for fences
The anti-corrosion form generally used for fences is powder hot-dip galvanizing, with available colors such as: light green, dark green, white, yellow, black, red, and so on. Hot-dip galvanizing is a relatively mature anti-rust processing technology in China. The hot-dip galvanizing method involves adding electrostatic powder into a porous, breathable container (fluidized bed) at the bottom, where a fan blows in treated compressed air from below, causing the electrostatic powder to roll and achieve a "fluidized state," becoming a uniformly dispersed fine powder. The heated components are then dipped and immersed in the powder, and subsequently placed into a heat treatment furnace for surface smoothing.
